Book Review #2

The book "Eating Animals" has become very interesting, at first I didn't think I would enjoy it that much; but i'm really starting to get into it. The book now is just mostly talking about him starting his family and now having a whole other outlook on eating animals, and discussing how he tried being a vegetarian. The author talks about why it isn't moral to eat some animals but you can eat others. Like why is it strange to eat a giraffe but normal to eat a cow. The book is very good so far and I'm really enjoying it.

      Discussion Questions:
1. Would you eat a "house" animal?
2. What do you think life would be like if everyone just ate whatever animal they wanted to, and it was considered to be okay.
3. Could you become a vegetarian?
4. If you were a vegetarian and you had children, would you want them to be vegetarian?

Eating Animals : A book Review by Kelsey P.

The Author of this book is Jonathan Safran Foer, and was published in 2009. I am expecting this book to be a lot of his own life experiences and going through life dealing with the choices of what food to eat, and knowing where the food comes from.
So far in the book it has mostly just been explaining and talking about growing up around meat, and first figuring out that meat was from animals and trying to decide if he thought it was right or wrong to be eating the animals.
I am actually very surprised with the book, I have enjoyed reading it so far. Its interesting because its more like him just talking about growing up and the life lessons he had that he started to relate to school.
In your life when you first found out that meat came from animals, did that change your life when eating it?
Does it make you think twice to eat "animals"?
Could you ever give up eating meat?
